Principal Accountabilities:

  • The primary function of the role is safe operation of the Slidell salt packaging systems using HMI control systems, forklifts, and at times in conjunction with physical labor.
  • Secondary functions assisting in sister department operations as business needs dictate 
  • Frequent computer use for processing documentation includes tasks such as generating process checks, shift notes, SAP entries, and other administrative duties within the dept
  • Inventory management through COOISPI, SAP, and FIFO is required work.
  • Operation of mobile powered equipment including forklifts and possibly stand up lifts
  • Use of SAP, MII, Teams, MS Office Programs required multiple times daily
  • Other miscellaneous duties that may be assigned by your supervisor.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Strict compliance with our HAACP/Food Safety Program. This includes sampling and testing per department standards for positive release testing and UD.
  • Minor maintenance, service, and adjustment of associated equipment in Slidell
  • Ability to safely follow LOTO procedures for service, cleaning, and quality checks
  • Strict compliance with all FSQR packaging quality check procedures and standards
  • Performing accurately applicable housekeeping duties per MSS
  • Ability to work from heights while following elevated work requirements
  • Accurate and timely completion of all related paperwork, shift logs, sap, teams, etc
  • Overtime as required to support business needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
  • High School Diploma/GED or a minimum of two years relevant work experience
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice
  • Communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment PPE
  • Able to operate machinery
  • Basic use of a computer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift Certified
  • Entering and retrieving data
  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Experience with Inventory Systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
  • Experience working in a production or plant environment (2-3 years)
