Milling Optimization Analyst - Decatur, IL 
This is a full time, exempt level position.

Position Summary:
Builds, maintains and optimizes business planning tools covering logistics and production for Carbohydrate Solutions, focusing on the Milling business.  Ability to apply a rigorous understanding of how to tie optimization techniques to current business practice and logistic flows.  Duties include optimizing and reporting on advanced analysis of freight, shipping, contracting and other components to management. 

Job Duties:

• Core duties include improving and maintaining an advanced mathematical approach using linear algebra, programming in SQL, FICO Mosel, Excel inputs, legacy ADM systems
• Codifying practical constraints such as freight, capacity, cost, market demand and raw material inputs using a SQL database tied to a linear optimizer.  The successful candidate must have a high attention to detail and must validate model results with key stakeholders.
• Generating daily rail shipment optimization reports,
• Maintaining data for the business optimization programs, improving data handling and coding to increase solution iteration speed, integrating the core logic engine to a variety of reports and outputs.
• Optimizing production rates to customer demand using a discrete analytical approach and
• Report potential opportunities for improvement in both daily and business activities to management.
• Determination and development of improved scheduling approaches, such as automation and predictive approaches to minimize manual inputs into planning.

Requirements:

• Proficient in applying analytical methods, engineering knowledge, manufacturing information, accounting data and business awareness to improve on current shipping, manufacturing and product forecasting using advanced operations research tools as necessary.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, or Science combined with an awareness of optimization methods and computer programs to apply large data sets into concise optimized output using a coded logic engine.
• Experience with applying matrix mathematics to multivariate problems is ideal but not required.
