Job Description
The Operations Team Leader (Warehouse) is responsible for effectively managing the activities in the Warehouse and developing collaborative partnerships with Colgate colleagues. He or she must be able to deliver agreed business results while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include department start up, daily production schedule adherence, customer service, area financial performance, and quality, microbiology, Environmental Health & Safety, labor relations, people and team development. This position is an effective and valuable member of the team ensuring delivery of subsidiary business results in his or her area. The Team Leader works within a structure that requires considerable interface with Planning, Production, EHS, Quality and Finance. The Team Leader guides and empowers teams in the implementation of Category Supply Chain strategy.
Responsibilities
- Leads the people, materials and equipment by active presence on the shop floor to achieve the daily production schedule and deliver area KPI's
- Accountable for Operational Excellence initiatives (EHS, Quality, FP&R) activities of the production area to deliver high levels of service to internal and external customers
- Support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives to improve Total Recordable Records (TRR) and Lost Work Case Rate (LWCR) metrics while supporting near misses and accident Investigations.
- Support Quality initiatives to improve Micro Performance Indicator (MPI) and Non Conformances metrics, and perform NCF failure investigations.
- Support the implementation of the standards of Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) within the teams, with focused emphasis in regards to People Capability, 5S & Visual Workplace, Autonomous Maintenance and Continuous Improvement.
- Ensures the development of people, teams, and organizational capabilities by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, delegation, and performance management
- Leads the team in completing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and keeps the plant informed about operations performance on a regular basis
- Optimally addresses labor relations issues in the area, as appropriate, according to CP Managing with Respect principles
- Support Employee Relations (ER) and performance issues investigations and follow ups in collaboration with Human Resources
- Drive improvement of team performance and behaviors in line with Colgate’s value based environment.
- Handles daily people administration activities including timekeeping, vacation, overtime and attendance
- Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures, e.g., timekeeping, crewing, vacation scheduling, overtime, attendance etc., to meet business needs
- Gathers data and identifies a daily strategy which improves product quality and productivity
- Coordinates the activity of operations and maintenance team members
- Lead the execution of the cycle count process and drive Continuous Improvement relating to the cycle count process
- Work in collaboration with Finance and Operations to drive continuous improvement in inventory control at the facility from End to End
- Ensure all company procedures are adhered to, taking appropriate action as necessary
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of Supply Chain Manufacturing work experience.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Ability to work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends or holidays as needed.
- Previous experience and proficiency with the following: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
