Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage production team for compliance with all environmental safety, health, and safety standards.
  • Manage and supervise staff including recruitment, performance management, employee relations and training & development.
  • Lead the production team in the safe commissioning and start-up of the facility.
  • Ensure all HACCP and food safety requirements are met for the department.
  • Ensure all necessary compliance training requirements are met for production personnel.
  • Generate a committed, efficient, and team-oriented attitude/philosophy and performance within the area of operations.
  • Manage and coordinate department to ensure quality and production targets are met for the plant. Develop, set and track KPI’s and standard work in the department.
  • Manage department to eliminate all non-compliances with food safety procedures and adherence to plant GMP policies.
  • Manage production costs to maintain budget requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to streamline operations to increase output, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Lead/support corrective action teams for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate the daily functions of the warehouse to ensure proper workflow for incoming and outgoing products and that adequate staffing is available.
  • Monitor minimum inventories to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in full as per service agreements.
  • Responsible for cycle counting, lot code tracking and month end reconciliation. Also provide shipment, production, and inventory history using SAP for internal and external audits.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Degree in Engineering or management field preferred or equivalent operations experience in related industry.
  • 5+ years industrial or food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Supervision and leadership experience in industrial or manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO and FSSC 22000 an asset.
  • Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and change.
  • Assertive, creative, energetic, and positive thinker.
  • PC literate. Working knowledge of Office 365, ERP systems etc.
