JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary role of this individual will be to provide engineering and project management support to the three functional areas of the Meritor aftermarket distribution center in Florence Ky.: Receiving, Value Added Services (Packaging/Kitting) and Order Fulfillment.

The 450,000 sq. ft. facility processes 7,000 customer order lines per day and packages 40,000 cartons and bags per day. The individual will be assigned specific projects with goals and objectives focused on cost reductions and increased productivity. Daily mentoring and guidance will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

•Project management

oSupport functional areas as required – Receiving, Value Added Services & Order Fulfillment

•Support in the implementation of departmental projects to address distribution systems, material flow, through-put and productivity improvements.

•Demonstrate positive working relationships with variety of internal & external customers

•Perform cost analysis and development of spreadsheet models for labor and capacity involving material handling and the flow of materials throughout the warehouse.

•Complement Industrial Engineering Department and provide assistance as needed.

•May perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

•Attending college/university working on a degree in industrial, manufacturing, or packaging engineering

•Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint

•Experience in AutoCAD

•Oral and written communication skills for interaction, negotiation and coordination responsibilities.
