Our Services Data Solutions team applies leading-edge technology and techniques in bringing scalable hybrid-cloud data solutions to our internal business partners. 

This role will be working with internal business teams and core enablement teams in providing a portfolio of engineering support from technical consulting to solution development for Data Engineering and Data Science projects.  The role is a technical, hands-on opportunity with a heavy focus on self-service automation, resilient design and scalable deployment of hybrid-cloud data solutions.  You will be responsible for engineering full-stack data solutions that support our hybrid-cloud capabilities.

You will

• Partner with internal Data Engineering and Data Science business teams to establish engineering best practices and ensure that the platform solutions are meeting the needs and standards of diverse stakeholders

• Help drive a transformational hybrid-cloud enablement strategy through engineering design and solution deployment

• Help establish a clear, consistent technology vision through collaboration, influence, and enablement

• Participate in collaborative architectural design and engineering development of data solutions using Azure Data Services (Synapse, ADF, Analysis Services, Spark/Databricks, PowerBI etc.)

• Suggest innovative data solutions based on new technologies and latest trends

• Mentor and coach internal teams on design, architecture, and implementation of end-to-end solutions

• Inspire and cultivate the data solutions mindset and systems thinking within the team

Essential Requirements

• 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education); Experience to include:

• Proven experience with distributed computing and big data architectures

• Proven experience in developing data solutions with Azure Data Services (Synapse, Databricks, Azure Analysis Services)

• Highly proficient in SQL and performance tuning of ETL jobs

• Hands-on experience with Spark and Delta Lake

• Hands-on experience with workload orchestration and automation tools like ADF

• Deep knowledge in data modeling and hands-on experience in designing, implementing and tuning data models for ETL, data warehousing and analytical workloads

• DevOps: Appreciates the CI and CD model and always builds to ease consumption and monitoring of the system

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, and personal qualities such as creativity, tenacity, curiosity, and passion for deep technical excellence
