AES’ mission is to improve lives by accelerating a safer and greener energy future.  We are a global, agile, cohesive organization with an employee engagement level akin to a startup company.  AES businesses throughout the world are often recognized as great places to work.  Our people share a passion to help meet the world’s current and increasing energy needs, while providing communities and countries the opportunity for economic growth due to the availability of reliable, affordable electric power.

AES Clean Energy (ACE) is seeking an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Analyst for its Maintenance Support Services team.  This role will support the O&M team by aiding the AES Clean Energy Wind, Solar, Battery Storage and Solar + Storage Field Service Teams.  The goal of the Maintenance Support Services Team is to reduce the burden on the Field Service teams’ auxiliary duties so that they can focus on their safety and maintaining our equipment.

A day in the life of the O&M Analyst will include, but is not limited to:

Managing ACE’s 3rd party O&M contractors to deliver their work scope obligations – preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and vegetation management – and holding them accountable to deliver those services in a timely and quality manner. Preparing and reviewing 3rd party Operation and Maintenance contracts. Assist in the monitoring of site performance and dispatching both ACE’s Field Service Technicians and 3rd party technicians for site corrective maintenance. Monitoring project performance and determining the success of our 3rd party O&M engagements.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and organize information, develop capabilities, and improve processes.  This position will be based at the AES Clean Energy office in Louisville, CO or Salt Lake City, UT.  Travel is expected to be occasional. Travel may involve visiting project sites, and/or for occasional training, conventions, seminars, etc.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Promote and support internal and external technicians to conduct their work in a Safety-First manner holding them accountable as needed.
    • Identify and characterize root cause of site underperformance to assist the O&M Engineering team.
    • Become familiar with specific site configurations and assist in optimizing systems for best performance and revenue generation.
    • Perform Job Safety Assessments and Safety Walks as appropriate.
    • Track and report on contract compliance obligations.
    • Service report review and appropriation in ACE’s document storage system and/or CMMS.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance site performance and reduce Field Service costs (i.e. unwind 3rd party maintenance contracts and replace with ACE field services support).
    • Ad-hoc analysis as requested.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • HS Diploma or equivalent required, Trade or Undergraduate Technical education preferred.
    • Wind, Solar, and/or Solar + Storage Field Service experience is a strong plus.
    • Electronic Technician or Electrician experience is a strong plus.
    • Experience in contract generation and maintenance.
    • Ability to interpret wind energy and/or solar project blueprint and designs.
    • Familiarity with wind energy and/or solar PV and battery storage design, components, and operation.
    • Experience utilizing CMMS, PMP, and ERP systems is a plus.
    • Personal values consistent with those of the AES Corporation; Safety First, Highest Standards, and All Together.
    • Strong proficiency with MS Office tools and cloud-based document management systems.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including an ability to maintain calm and effective exchanges with all parties – internal and external.
    • Highly organized and detail oriented.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to be flexible with a changing and challenging work schedule.
    • Ability to successfully work remotely and independently, away from an office environment or direct supervision, for extended periods of time.

    Job Location & Details:

    • Reports to Manager, Maintenance Support Services.
    • Role will be based out of Salt Lake City, UT or Louisville, CO.
    • Travel is expected to be occasional.
