Job Description

  • The Occupational Health Nurse will lead the implementation and delivery of all appropriate health and leave management programs that support the Mars Inc health and wellness strategy. This position collaborates with site leadership, MyP&O, Legal and Safety to ensure compliance regarding all applicable regulatory programs. Primary responsibilities for this position include injury/illness assessment, triage treatment and continuity of care. In addition, conducting health surveillance programs, providing health education, ergonomic assessments and facilitating return to work are all essential components of this position. The Occupational Health Nurse obtains and maintains confidential health information on all associates within assigned sites. It will be their responsibility to communicate with all levels of associates with reviews and interpretations of site-specific data and provides information and guidance to site leadership and stakeholders on potential interventions to improve associates’ health and wellbeing.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Nursing, plus RN
  • Licensed to practice as a certified OHN in the US
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the field of occupational health, designing and/or managing site or regional health protection or promotion programs and partnerships

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • The job holder requires substantial influencing skills in order to be successful. It will be necessary to influence health & safety behavior and decision making at the site level for the individual to drive and support a culture of health and well-being.
  • Identifies employees with actual or potential occupational exposures, including chemical, biological and ergonomic, and determines the need for baseline and annual medical surveillance.
  • Provides emergency medical response to designated areas in the facility during clinic hours. Management of OSHA and Mars Inc regulated health monitoring programs including hearing conservation, respirator use, bloodborne pathogens, sensitizer, and other as determined by site management.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement health & wellness programs to control workplace health risks in offices/manufacturing and reduce employee’s overall health risks
