This is an exempt level position

 

Job Summary:

The Nutrition Performance Manager will support all financial aspects of Nutrition operations. In this role, the preferred candidate will take leadership in improving the Operations locations’ cost position.

Job Requirements:

  • Understand fundamentals of operations and plant cost position
  • Understand high level operating KPIs such as OEE (capacity utilization), yield, energy/chemical utilization, and first pass prime
  • Understand drivers for optimizing plant yield, energy, and chemical utilization
  • Collaborates in cost benchmark development, and managing costs by tracking against benchmarks
  • Communicate to BU Finance on operating performance, savings initiatives, and capital strategy of all BU plants
  • Assists in the preparation of the financial plan for all BU operations
  • Responsibility for development of annual and 5-year Financial Plans, as well as re-forecasting any modifications throughout the year
  • Engage with plant and corporate personnel on setting benchmarks for operating cost and capital expenditure
  • Lead, develop, and coach the global team of Nutrition Performance Management Leads
  • Lead operating cost analysis efforts
  • Analyze performance variances and highlight areas of opportunity
  • Implement cost tracking and improvement tools in the plants
  • Explain cost anomalies by working with accounting
  • Hold routine financial reviews with division and plant leadership that highlight performance variances and areas of opportunity
  • Take part in AFE preparation and lookbacks to understand financial justification of capital expenditures
  • Engage with accounting and plants to streamline month end close reporting
  • Propose, pilot, and implement procedural improvements, work-process changes, and IT projects to improve month end close
  • Take leadership role in Performance Excellence initiatives, such as Zero Loss
  • Take leadership role in other Performance Management CoE Initiatives, as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • 4 year university degree in engineering or accounting preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in operations or finance role, with preferred exposure to both
  • Experience in Nutrition BU is beneficial
  • Operations management experience highly desired
  • Ideal candidate has mix of technical and financial capabilities via degree and experience. Candidate that doesn’t come ready with both must possess the ability and desire to grow in these areas.
  • Advanced ability with productivity/analytics tools such as Power BI, Excel, HFM and PI is beneficial. Ability to create presentation material and communicate on multiple levels is critical.
  • Requires ability to collaborate, influence, lead, and execute, with a diverse global team
