Main Purpose of the Role

To ensure the safe and efficient delivery of clinical care within the school environment as part of a team of three school nurses. To communicate professionally with staff, parents and management all details concerning medical care and to keep medical centre administration work up to date.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of clinical care whilst on duty

• Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the evaluation and implementation of programme of care without supervision

• Forming and maintaining a clear line of communication between the medical centre and the rest of the school, adhering to strict guidelines on confidentiality

• Establish and maintain professional contact with the parents of the patients.

Core Functions

• Ensure that own nursing practices comply with professional code of conduct and CdL Medical Centre policies and procedures

• Liaise with house staff and on-site staff professionally and effectively, always utilizing excellent communication skills

• Maintaining accurate clear records of attendances, and care provided

• Helping to optimize the well-being of pupils by providing health education and support, taking on an active role in delivering special clinics relating to health education

• To have a flexible and adaptable approach

 

Skills and Competencies

 

• Required to have Nursing Qualification recognized by Swiss Law

• Experience in emergency and pediatric nursing is desirable but not essential

• Interest in teenager's primary nursing and health care education

• Communication skills oral and written in both English and French

• Good interpersonal skills 

• Excellent communication skills

• Pressure resilient

Conditions

• Part-time: 35%

• Holidays: 4 weeks
