Job Description
Job Purpose:
Lead the execution of Business Unit focused NSI projects for assigned products. Scope of assignment includes drivetrain products within Drivetrain across range of Caterpillar machines built in this region. Establish project management plan and use plan to manage product delivery; plan and manage resources for implementing changes; assist in evaluating requests.
Job duties
- This position takes responsibility for the overall management of the team and the day-to-day resource issues. The incumbent is responsible for identifying and finding improvement opportunities that exist across each of the different processes and executing strategies to address them
- This position identifies opportunities and determines enhancements, which offer cost/value for the customer. Directs the activities of the team and determines the scope of work including costing and pricing, selecting, negotiating, and administering agreements.
- Develops specific plans for program execution and monitors actual performance. Negotiates changes to programs including cost, price, supplier selection, etc. Directs changes required due to performance or reliability problems.
- The overall manager of these areas takes responsibility for all the areas described above and therefore requires expertise in each of the different fields. Must be able to effectively manage the program by identifying right resources to meet the deadlines.
- Good functional knowledge on Transmission / Lower Powertrain system & subsystems.
- Must be able to communicate technically with process partners on a regular basis
- Should have knowledge of other functions that provide inputs regularly, i.e., Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations.
- Must be very customer focused and can drive change throughout the enterprise effectively & able to manage risk and ambiguity on a project.
