We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Non-Financial Risk Change Manager, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Wholesale Control Office, manage and facilitate the successful and timely delivery of the agreed firm-wide Non-Financial Risk (NFR) programme changes. The Project Management will represent the Wholesale business at the various NFR programme working groups.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the process to identify priorities to drive the strategy Global Wholesale Control Office including the sharing of best practice across Regional and Country counterparties
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Non-Financial Risk Programme across the Wholesale business including the management of the new process-led Risk Control Assessments (RCAs)
  • Liaise with the Wholesale Country and Regional Counterparts, the Product Lines and with the other Global Lines of Business on matters related to the firm-wide NFR programme
  • Act as a link between the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) programme and the Wholesale business units
  • Support the process to determine optimal execution and cascade key information across the key Wholesale stakeholders
  • Lead segments of activity to move away from manual monitoring towards the creation of automated data-driven controls
  • Engage with the Risk Stewards to agree appropriate Risk Taxonomy and Control Libraries (RTCLs)
  • Production of good quality reporting into Wholesale and other governance forums

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Banking experience with strong and broad risk foundation
  • A working knowledge of Commercial and Global Banking with understanding of client lifecycle & trade journey
  • Firm grasp of Operational Risk approach and challenges adopted within HSBC and knowledge of the wider regulatory environment and trends in financial services
  • Strong analytical and project management skills to enhance procedures and controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate and work effectively with senior business leaders across business lines and geographies
  • In depth knowledge of the Three Lines of Defence Model and Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Ability to build senior relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with senior executives, non-executives, regulators, third parties and internal management teams
  • Degree (or similar) in business, finance, or related field
