What will you be doing?
Working in the Technology Operations Networks Operations Centre on a range of technologies (including SDH, PDH, Ethernet, Optical, MSPP etc); the role will specialise in one or more of the technologies but will be expected to work across all of them. The individual will work as a shift engineer, as on a 2 day, 2 night, 4 off shift pattern; providing network monitoring, initial fault diagnosis and resolution. In depth diagnostics and intermittent fault resolution may also be necessary as part of the role (as required).
• Professionally represent Real Time Operations in all day to day operations.
• Proactively monitor customer networks to identify fault occurrences.
• Acknowledge, check, and respond to customer fault reports.
• Perform timely and accurate basic initial diagnostics, ensuring fault clearance wherever possible.
• Ensure accurate ticket detail entry and updates for all fault reports.
• Ensure relevant and accurate information available to assist in fault diagnosis and clear.
• Monitor fault tickets, prioritise, and track progress as appropriate.
• Ensure awareness of SLA agreements, and perform all ticket actions in time-scales to support SLA success
Who are we looking for?
• Network management experience in 2 key technology areas
• Ability of working and understanding across SDH and Optical Transmissions technologies, (Ericsson, Nortel, Ciena,)
• SC Clearance or eligible to apply is a must. 5 Years minimal within the UK.
• Customer focus & business impact awareness.
• Experience in telecommunications, of which at least one in an operations centre environment.
Desirable
• Proven track record in network management & troubleshooting
• Excellent understanding of Global Telecoms infrastructure including 24 x7 x 365 environment.
• Experienced at working with multiple third party network providers and equipment vendors.
• Able to communicate at appropriate levels of target audience on both Technical & non-Technical (including process activities).
