A Night Manager serving the Hilton Hotels & Resorts is the first point of contact for any general management related queries and overall hotel operations concerns that arise outside normal operating hours.
What will I be doing? As a Night Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the entire hotel during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety. A night manager has the full hotel authority in the absence of the General Manager. Makes decisions affecting the overall guest satisfaction as well as the safety of the hotel, its team members and guests. Directly manages all night shift team members.
The position has a Front Office focus but also has responsibility for overall hotel operations in the absence of Functional Managers, including but not limited to the following tasks:
• Be visible in the hotel lobby and other public areas
• Represent the General Manager and other Senior Managers in their absence
• Maintain current knowledge of all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of such procedures as required
• Handle any management issues or emergencies that arise, record them as required, and implement the necessary actions to bring them to resolution
• Ensure that all Guest complaints are managed promptly and completely
• Support the Night Auditor with all Front Desk and accounting related duties
• Produce nightly reports, as required
• Inform other departments of Guest special requests, including early/late departures and room changes
• Maintain awareness of all hotel areas
• Serves as Manager-On-Duty to address and resolve guest and team member questions or issues.
• Ensures total guest satisfaction and safety
• Tours hotel interior and exterior to insure quality appearance, cleanliness and lighting. Reports all deficiencies and safety hazards to the engineer on duty
• Follow up to insure that deficiencies have been corrected
• Oversees the preparation of daily summary reports for distribution to various hotel departments on the day's business activities
• Supervises and trains night Guest Services Agents to ensure guests are satisfied with their stay and reports are accurately completed
• Overall supervision of all night shift team members
• Addresses concerns and reviews the status of the daily operation with Department Heads and General Manager to ensure quality and continuity in operations
• Manages any emergencies that arise during the nigh hours
Supportive Functions: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
• Talks and interacts with guests to help ensure a relaxing and entertaining environment within the hotel.
• Handles guest relocations whenever necessary.
• Other duties and project management as assigned
• Make sure to read your weekly NOW & SALT in the lobby.
• Prepare and conduct daily team briefings.

• Communication skills – Excellent verbal and written communication in English required
• Additional languages – Papiamento, Dutch and Spanish
• Education - Secondary General Education (VWO/HAVO) or Secondary Vocational Education (EPI) or equivalent required
• License/ Certificates - CPR certification and/ or First Aid training required
• Years of related experience - 3 to 5 Years
• Years of management or supervisor experience - 2 Years +
• Experience - Managerial experience required
• Computer skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), OnQ, Vision Online, Kipsu
• Have a degree, diploma, or formal certification in Hotel Management or equivalent
• Current and demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and security procedures
• Calm, efficient, and able to work well under pressure
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
