The Global Information Systems Group (Infosys) is responsible for crafting, deploying, and supporting Bloomberg’s internal IT systems. This includes our global corporate network plus all of the hardware, software and enterprise applications used by nearly 21,000 employees in more than 170 offices around the world. We focus on enterprise solutions, efficiency tools, and IT systems integration which helps move all of Bloomberg's businesses forward.

Our Team

The Network and Telecom Support Operations are responsible for implementation, day-to-day support and maintenance of Bloomberg LP's enterprise network and telephony infrastructure. Our team works closely with Engineering teams, from conceptual stage to production. As owners of the environment we ensure that our infrastructure is always available and enables our employees to be highly productive. Our team constantly challenges the status quo and look for ways to improve workflows and efficiencies. We act as an escalation point, develop operational processes and documentation for the service organization!

We'll Trust You To:

  •  Manage Fault and Performance monitoring systems for large enterprise network infrastructure with Campus, branch and data center locations
  •  Address alerts and other network events (fault and performance), responsible for break/fix maintenance
  •  Proactively address capacity requirements for normal operation (IP allocation, system resources, port availability, bandwidth, WiFi coverage)
  •  Be an escalation point for Helpdesk, and support solving infrastructure related issues
  •  Work with Engineering teams in product testing, operational procedures, identifying automation opportunities and collaborate to develop tools and scripts.
  •  Work with vendor tech support teams to identify and fix issues and perform Break/Fix as needed
  •  Support regional counterparts in network maintenance, as needed
  •  Develop operational scripts to assist in troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
  •  Act as project lead for hardware and software lifecycle maintenance activities
  •  Network Access Control system maintenance and operational support
  •  Day-to-day maintenance of Enterprise DHCP/DNS systems
  •  Support Wireless network infrastructure and resolve wireless problems
  •  Documentation of processes and operational procedures

You'll Need to Have:

  •  5+ years of experience in Enterprise Network support
  •  Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, routing, switching, security protocols and ability to read/understand packet captures
  •  Experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and Arista switches
  •  Understanding of Network Security fundamentals including proxies and firewalls
  •  Familiar with Network Access Control Systems (Cisco ISE/Forescout CounterAct etc)
  •  Hands on experience with Python, Ansible and/or other scripting languages and automation.
  •  Experience with Network Management systems such as Solarwinds, NetMRI, EMC Ionix (EMC Smarts)
  •  Good understanding of Incident and Change management principles
  •  Solid communication skills and work independently
  •  Prioritize work in a fast paced environment with proven attention to detail and organizational skills
  •  Strong problem solving skills
  •  Build relationships with multi-functional teams within Bloomberg

We'd Love to See:

  •  Experience in the financial industry
  •  CCNA or CCNP / Arista Certification Engineering Associate (ACE-A)
  •  Experience with 3rd party applications such as Splunk, and Jira
  •  Working in an Agile environment
  •  Experience working with VMware ESXi
  •  Experience with structured cabling
