Network Solutions Architect

If so, you could be a part of the team responsible for network designs for on premise and the Cloud, which supports our internal and external customer base.
You will be a key part of the wider Architecture Team, operating within the Networking Domain. The Network Solution Architect will work closely with the Principal Network Architect, Infrastructure Architects, Head of Infrastructure, Project Managers, Support Teams and wider Architecture community to inform strategy, document technical solutions, contribute to the ongoing integrity of systems and provide advice and recommendations as appropriate. You’ll be a member of a crucial team employing cutting edge technologies and helping to continue to drive ASOS.com’s growth.

What you'll be doing…
- Contributing to the strategy for the Networking Domain
- Providing architecture support to the infrastructure engineering and support teams
- Validating requirements
- Providing solution definitions (both high & low level)
- Helping to determine optimal sequencing & dependencies.
- Incorporating broader architecture principles & standards
- Facilitating design review / approval
- Supporting the delivery and transitioning of solutions into production
- To identify where improvements can be made and proactively engage with delivery and project teams to address them.
- You will produce technical designs ensuring that functional and non-functional requirements are met. You will be required to document and communicate both low level technical detail and high-level overviews.
- To bring to the attention of the infrastructure and architecture team any innovations, suggestions or projects which would improve the efficiency or profitability of the Business.
We’d love to meet someone with…
- 5+ years in a senior networking role, having worked on multiple projects as a Network Solution Architect.
- Experience articulating solutions based on business needs with great attention to detail at a business and technical level.
- Exposure in performance critical environments where scalability, high availability and security are priorities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to design complex network connectivity solutions across LAN and WAN, Datacentre, Wireless, and Cloud connectivity.
- Experience in the design of network security solutions.
- Knowledge of emerging network technologies such as SD-WAN/SASE and automation technologies e.g. Cisco SDA, Ansible
- Experience delivering network solutions into hosting facilities such as Equinix.
- Experience working with Telco/network providers.
- Ability to cost and estimate lead times of projects and capture risks and issues.
- Expertise in network consolidation, and capacity planning to provide increased availability and flexibility.
- Ability to manage your own time, work to deadlines and drive complex issues to conclusion.
- Technical skills:
- A thorough knowledge of IP, Ethernet, routing and switching.
- Working knowledge of Cisco, Aruba, Meraki network platforms.
- Practical knowledge of security products such as Check Point/ Palo Alto/Cisco Meraki, Forescout/ClearPass.
- Experience delivering WAN/LAN/Public Cloud connectivity/ management/virtualisation technologies and products from leading vendors.
- Working knowledge of network protocols and standards e.g. MPLS, BGP, OSPF, Layer 2 technologies, VPN technologies.
- Problem solving and root cause analysis acting as 3rd line support when required.
