Job Summary

This Network Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of Senior Network Engineers.  The team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, design, and implementation of large complex systems and networks.  You will also oversee all network equipment and design LANs and WANs in our 3 primary Data Centers, as well as at our 300+ sites in the United States, UK, and other locations. 

The Network Engineering Manager will provide strategic input and leadership for all networking decisions.  You should be comfortable working in a highly virtual environment.  The manager will be responsible for a highly diverse and distributed workforce. 

This position will also test and implement new software and/or hardware and assist other ABM IT Staff & Management, as directed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead a team of highly diverse Senior Network engineers.
• Design and develop global networking solutions, emphasizing usability, performance, reliability, and supportability.
• Design and implement hybrid cloud network technologies in a multi-cloud environment.
• Ability to work in a mature IT security environment.
• Provide operational support assistance throughout corporate networking infrastructure and services.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, such as switches, routers, and wireless, in a multi-routing infrastructure, with the assistance of Network Operations.
• Explain complex, technical information in a non-technical, easy-to-understand way.
• Work with ABM IT staff, IT Project Management Office (PMO), and IT Audit & Security teams on all assigned projects and collaborative work
• Write, review and/or maintain technical documentation.
• Report weekly status on projects to designated ABM IT management.

Minimum Requirements

Education, Required Skills & Competencies

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field a plus.
• 5+ years of management experience
• 10+ years of Cloud expertise
• 15+ years of Cisco experience required
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and AIX
• Strong knowledge of VMware 7.x
• Ability to communicate program standards and requirements to contractors.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Citrix NetScaler a plus
• Knowledge of Network administration, development, and software, eg Apache, Cisco, Solarwinds.
