With this in mind, the NA Server Center of Competency is seeking an experienced candidate interested in developing and enhancing their strategic acumen, leadership skills and career development by joining the Server Field Marketing Management team, supporting the NA Commercial outside & inside sales organizations.

The Server Field Marketing Managers are Marketing, Technical & Sales Resources tasked with delivering profitable server share growth through the enablement of field and inside sales teams. They do so through:

Coordination, dissemination & implementation of training activities Design and implementation of programmatic sales solutions Fast, decisive customer engagement on large, strategic opportunities Creation and execution of coordinated server-based sales plays and programs Deep collaboration with cross-functional teams like Segment Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance, Product group & Global Operations Deriving and disseminating relevant insights from careful data analytics Providing core inside and outside sales teams with technical expertise around the entire server and solutions portfolio of products & services Building intermediate and long-term planning frameworks including go-to-market motions, influencing product design, and planning product sales cycles

The team is Solution-focused and has extensive knowledge of all server product and solution areas and how those map to customer business drivers. Their focus is to help account teams increase profitable sales of Dell Server products and solutions by leading server-related sales activities within the segment.  The Server Field Marketing Manager will work directly with the core sales teams and resources in GCN, Sales Operations, Marketing and Finance to ensure that we are delivering server solutions with the optimal technology for our customers.  They closely align to core and GCN sales, focusing on the server lines of business (Racks, Modular, Towers, HCI), as well as leading the engagement with customers for large bid/RFP opportunities. They work closely with GCN Specialists, PG, PLM and Marketing resources to coordinate server training activities, programs & campaigns. While this is not a field-based role, the Server Brand Manager will from time to time join the core and specialist sales teams in customer meetings (onsite or at EBC/CSC sessions) to present the Dell point of view on servers and solution, share the Dell Story, conduct whiteboarding sessions and present roadmaps, do updates on Dell’s current and future server environment, showcase products, etc…

The Sr. Server Field Marketing Manager has very strong function knowledge of the following areas:

  • NA business environment, sales structure and culture, unique segment requirements

  • Dell sales tools & processes (sales experience STRONGLY preferred)

  • Core Server LOBs (PowerEdge Servers, Cloud Servers)

  • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure(HCI)

  • Service Providers / Cloud Providers

  • Big data/analytics workloads and solutions

  • High Performance Computing

  • Server Technology & Industry Trends / Business Impact discussions

  • Sales Operation & Fulfillment organizations, teams & processes

  • Direct and Channel sales

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA a plus

  • 6+ years of relevant business experience in the IT industry (Sales, Sales Operations or ProductEngineering â€“ sales experience strongly preferred)

  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time in support of Dell customers (NA only)

  • Strong analytics/insights capabilities

  • Deep understanding of the Dell sales structure, culture and ethos

  • Proven ability to operate successfully in high-stress environments & ever-changing priorities
