We are experiencing high growth here at JD Sports with a 64% YoY uplift in group revenue for H1 2021 in comparison to H1 last year, so it's a very exciting time to join us as we continue to expand globally.
 
In our online multichannel department in the UK alone, we've scaled up our headcount in the past year by 170 people and we are now looking to increase this by a further 120+ over the next 12 months to accommodate our growth. Outside of the UK, we’ve also been accelerating our growth throughout Europe from our local offices in Amsterdam and Alicante.

 

As a leading retailer, we are preferred partners with the likes of Google, Facebook and TikTok due to our extensive presence within the market. As such, they provide us with leading industry insights and training, and we are often chosen as the beta trialists for new cutting-edge features that they are planning to roll out. This means we are always at the forefront when it comes to helping to shape the industry landscape and our team has early access to brand new features and training from the world's largest tech and social companies.

 

In our Multichannel department we cover everything in the online and digital space and run everything internally through our world-class inhouse functions spread across: Digital Marketing (Paid Media, SEO, CRM, Affiliates, Influencers, Social, Content), Ecommerce (Online Trading, Online Visual Merchandising), Tech (Software Development FE/BE Stacks, App Development, Data, Security, UI/UX), and Studios (Design, Artwork, Retouch, Photography, Videography, Styling).

ROLE OVERVIEW

To manage the execution of digital marketing activities for the Multi-Channel sites and devices. Managing multiple marketing channels to deliver sales targets, and planning activities to support the growth in sales and brand awareness. Key to this will be working with designers, content writers, the photography studio, and the offline Marketing team to ensure the relevant assets are available on time and look as good as possible, always ensuring we stay ahead of the competition.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly reviewing, evaluating and benchmarking our Multi-Channel proposition to deliver the sales and profit plan. Providing reporting on trading activities and performance when requested.

 

  • Maintaining and developing the trading activities in such a way that continuous improvements to visitor numbers, get to product rates, and conversion rates are delivered.

 

  • Deliver appropriate revenues in line with the target plan and monitor costs to ensure profitably targets are achieved.

 

  • Ensure a multi-channel marketing calendar is maintained which is in line with the overall campaign and activities.

 

  • Working alongside the CRM team to devise and schedule our email marketing campaigns, aiming to improve deliverability, engagement and reduce unsubscribes through segmentaion of the database.

 

  • Work with the Design team to develop the creative strategy for our brand.

 

  • Work with the Content Writers to develop and maintain a consistent tone of voice for our brand.

 

  • Ensure that the customer message is consistent, as well as relevant to the channel and context it appears in e.g. Mobile, desktop, app

 

  • Keeping a track of previous marketing activity, and of competitors activity.

 

  • Work with the Merchandising team to brief and manage photoshoots and the creation of photography and video assets.

 

  • Manage the design team workload and help them prioritise so we hit deadlines.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test banners/product listings and email links to ensure correct landing pages and assets are used.
  • Work with the wider team to develop site improvements and make recommendations
  • Work with the content team to create copy & marketing material for all campaigns. This would include:
  • Crafting headlines and body copy for creative executions (both online and potentially offline too).
  • Provide fresh creative input and commercial guidance

-    Working with designers to form a creative team working on future concepts.

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE NEEDED:

  • Knowledge and experience of commercial or retail digital marketing.
  • Experience of developing and executing marketing strategies.
  • Experience of creating and delivering email marketing programs.
  • Experience of using ecommerce applications for analysis, merchandising or CRM would be advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications within Marketing/ecommerce is desirable.
  • Knowledge and passion for the outdoors would be advantageous, but is not required.
