Lead and manage the product lifecycle beginning with design, development, maintenance, enhancement through potential exit for the Retail and Correspondent lending channels.

Champion saleable mortgage products and profit maximization by engaging with external partners from the Government Sponsored Enterprises (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) and Government Agencies ((Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veteran’s Administration (VA), and US Department of Agriculture (USDA)) and collaborating with internal stakeholders, including senior mortgage management, production leadership, risk stewards, and cross functional teams focused on integration and implementation to achieve client-deepening objectives for bank segmentation targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for providing analysis and recommendations for mortgage operations, servicing, strategy, marketing, technology, projects, regulation, risk management, business growth and development. Analyzes, modifies and enhances existing products to maximize profitability and meet customer needs Responsible for development and management of multiple, highly complex, specialized product lines (i.e. cash management) and/or market segments.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including but not limited to, Origination, Servicing, Capital Markets, Mortgage Lending Administration, Risk Management Organization, Model Risk Management, Internal Audit, external auditors and consultants to elicit business needs, gather requirements and offer solutions.

Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by data, research and insights on customers and non-customers. Drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning. Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan and work with all departments to execute while enhancing relationships across the Consumer lines of business.

Participate and provide insights, strategic thinking and illustrated solutions in segment or multi-product initiatives as identified by Mortgage Senior Leadership to achieve business objectives for Mortgage.  Volunteer to lead and drive these project teams of peers and refine ideas into recommendations. Participate and provide insights, strategic thinking and illustrated solutions in Consumer Bank initiatives as identified by Mortgage and/or Bank Senior Leadership to achieve business objectives for Truist.  Volunteer to lead and drive these project teams of peers and refine ideas into recommendations which more fully integrate Mortgage into Consumer. Proactively request and utilize insights and opportunities for your product set from the Consumer Analytics team and other internal analytical resources along with market data to identify strategic and tactical opportunities and fine-tune execution. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent education
  • Related training with a particular emphasis on ROI and discount cash-flow analysis
  • 7+ years related experience in product management/leadership or any combination of finance, operations, risk management, quality assurance, consulting, product development, project  management, banking or equivalent (experiential advanced degrees may reduce this requirement)
  • 2+ years of specialized lending knowledge in the mortgage, consumer finance  and/or banking industry
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products, in addition to web conferencing technology (e.g. WebEx, Skype) and collaboration platforms (SharePoint)
  • Ability to gather and deliver abstract and complex  ideas into developing and managing products
  • Professional and effective communication skills which include a demonstrated ability to understand different viewpoints, ask questions and comprehend new or complex matters, and successfully communicate these matters to cross-functional areas that may feel differently
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively and exhibit influence without direct control, especially across functional businesses that may have competing projects
  • Ability to develop strategic recommendations based on relevant data and in partnership with senior team members
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills to present materials and facilitate discussions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced professional degree in banking, business or finance
  • Experience communicating directly with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, VA and/or USDA
  • Familiarity with residential loans, modeling and industry indicators
  • Experience in mortgage, banking, financial risk, audit or compliance
  • Experience with Empower/Lending Space, Workfront, Cognos, QlikView, Tableau
