Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. 

 

Power Platform scope at HSBC includes Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and incorporates Dynamics 365.  The Microsoft Power Platform SME will be responsible for architectural designs, implementation and administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering projects for highly regulated organisations. The candidate must have deep technical knowledge of the platform but also have the ability to communicate clearly to business stakeholders and work within a global team to deliver secure and compliant solutions.

The role will report to the Power Platform Lead in Global Cloud Services

What you will be doing;

 

  • Understand customers’ overall functional and non-functional requirements, IT and business priorities and success measures to design implementation
  • Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, orchestrating key resources and infusing key infrastructure technologies 
  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community
  • Define best practices and architecture governance for the Power Platform technology stack
  • Ensure all relevant architecture governance, policy, and standards are met
  • Build, maintain and support core CoE shared components
  • Build automated pipelines and templates for Power Platform components
  • Promote the use of re-usable assets 
  • Assist the Operations team with any high priority technical incidents
  • Maintain and manage all customer facing information and knowledge bases for Power Platform Architecture, Solution Design and key design decisions
  • Review designs to ensure they align to agreed standards
  • Support engineers with implementation and technical challenges
 

Qualifications

 

What you will bring to the role;  

 

To be successful in this role you should have;

  • Relevant Intermediate and Advanced Microsoft Certifications for Microsoft Azure and Power Platform
  • Extensive experience with delivering/implementation of projects utilising the Microsoft stack and Azure
  • Extensive experience with designing complex implementations on the Power Platform / Dynamics 365
  • Hands-on experience in implementation of projects on the Power Platform / Dynamics 365
  • Common Data Model including Plug-ins development, Security model (Roles, Business Units, Field Level, etc...), Business rules, Web API, SDK Libraries/Tools, C#.NET development, Integrations via service endpoints, and Automated Testing (Unit/Integration)
  • Model Driven Apps including Configurations and customizations, Business processes and rules, Forms/views/dashboards, Web resource development, JavaScript development
  • Canvas Apps including Building pages/navigation/formulas, using connectors, Using flows
  • Flow (Power Automate) including using triggers and actions, Best practices and limitations
  • Power BI including Building reports using Power BI, Publishing and sharing reports, Using data from CDS via connector & SQL
  • Azure including building Azure functions to extend CDS, Using Service Bus to extend CDS, Knowledge of Key vault and service principals
  • Dynamics/Power Platform Admin including Environment management, security groups, and DLP management
  • DevOps / ALM including PowerShell, Power Platform ALM Tools, Creation of Azure DevOps pipelines, Knowledge of Git, Knowledge of quality/security tools (Power Apps checker, SonarQube, CheckMarx, Nexus)
  • CoE Toolkit including understanding of CoE Toolkit components, experience in extending and customizing CoE Toolkit
  • Experience working in an agile management project, with knowledge of key agile concepts and ceremonies, and ability to apply agile concepts in day to day activities
  • Experience of working in financial services or another highly regulated environment, knowledge of applying security throughout development lifecycle, knowledge of change controls processes, experience in managing risk and implementing controls, and experience of delivering complex enterprise systems across multiple regions
  • Experience of working in CoE type environment in designing and building re-usable and scalable components
  • Experience in defining best practices and standards
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management and developers)
  • Prior work experience in a Consulting/Architecture/Development position within a software and/or services company with exposure working within/for Financial Services
  • A high level understanding of Identity and Access management principles and tools
  • An understanding of role based access controls and organisational hierarchies
  • Experience in working in a global cross functional service management team
  • Experience in dealing with multiple support groups that contribute to creating a service
