We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Metadata Analyst working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

In this role you will report to the Data Management Lead and will be responsible for supporting the overall data activities across Markets Security Services (MSS) to drive robust and effective data management.

The Metadata Analyst will help develop strong data management practices by analysing critical data and gathering information to support the management of metadata and associated metadata models, data management controls and adherence to Group Data Management Strategy.  This role is responsible for supporting the day to day management of the Data Dictionary and working with stakeholders across IT and the MSS Operations business to undertake analysis to help understand data across MSS and unlock business benefit.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the Operations teams and data architects to identify critical data elements and gather the various metadata relating to them, ensuring metadata becomes a regular deliverable of data management activity.
  • Support the maintenance of metadata artefacts for MSS, reporting and escalating where appropriate, resolving issues, gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Support the Group and MSS data dictionaries / business glossaries by collaborating with business representatives to establish concise, understandable definitions that accurately reflect the business purpose and provide clarity to consumers.
  • Work with the Product lead to establish and manage mechanisms to share the MSS data dictionary materials and publicise updates.
  • Support the data architects in the development of data models to support the MSS business.
  • Support the promotion of new modelled content to the enterprise data models ensuring it is consistent with existing definitions.
  • Provide support to Data Management Analysts as required.
 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Specialist knowledge of metadata management, data management and data risk.
  • Strong knowledge of data management challenges in complex organisations.
  • Ability to reconcile multiple conflicting priorities and develop action plans that meet both short and long term business needs.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time.
  • Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and diverse work environments.
  • Strong communicator with excellent oral and written skills.
  • Good understanding of the Group and the M&SS business, including products, services, systems and processes.
  • Strong Excel skills.
