Job Description

The Corporate Development and M&A team is seeking to add talent to our group focused on the key strategic areas of inorganic growth for ABM. In this role, you will have significant visibility to executive management and play an integral role in due diligence as well as the smooth transition of newly acquired companies into ABM. 

You will participate in all acquisition activities (pre-close and post-merger), in addition to helping with other aspects of our strategic initiatives by working on special projects for the team. Our team values entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new acquisition or divestiture opportunities working alongside the Head of Corporate Development, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, and business unit operating presidents to develop a robust acquisition pipeline
  • Conduct company and market research projects, competitive analysis, and other market intelligence reporting that aligns with the ABM’s inorganic growth strategy
  • Execute the end-to-end transaction process including initial evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, integration planning, closing, and post-merger integration
  • Manage the due diligence process including information requests, quantitative analyses, vendor engagements (bankers, consultants, QoE providers, lawyers, etc.), discovery calls, and report out of findings/risks to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Conduct valuation and financial modeling analyses including discounted cash flow, accretion/dilution merger impacts, comparable/precedent transactions, investment return calculations, etc.
  • Engage with individual functional teams throughout due diligence to provide analytical and problem-solving support to their analyses and evaluations
  • Partner cross-functionally to help build and execute ABM’s integration practice, including driving the pre-merger integration planning and post-merger execution, to help achieve deal rationale, value drivers, and synergies.

Minimum Requirements

Education, Required Skills & Competencies

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience (management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, corporate development, venture capital, M&A)
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Strong relationship building between internal customers, vendors, and employees
