This position will coordinate activities of workers engaged in inspecting and testing as cast and machined products. They will have to apply knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures to drive improvements in products and customer satisfaction as well as oversee quality assurance processes, for conformance to regulatory and internal product standards consistently across all production areas. This position is also responsible for reviewing reports and conferring with quality assurance, production, management, and engineering personnel to solve work-related problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee assigned areas of QA, and QC and ISO processes
  • Plans and adjusts work priorities to meet daily, weekly, monthly goals and metrics
  • Develop formal quality inspection training requirements
  • Assure inspection/test skill and methods are executed consistently across personnel and processes
  • Analyze processes to identify and communicate improvement opportunities
  • Drive process/quality improvements using formal methodologies
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to production and quality processes
  • Sustain product and process controls, act to correct process nonconformance
  • Review/investigate internal customer complaints/issues to improve current control methods
  • Participate in cross-functional walkthroughs

To be successful in this position candidates must demonstrate a work history of:

  • Hands on at a shop floor level, working with individuals of the process to determine the “what it is” and “what it should be”
  • Results orientated both quantifiable and quantitative
  • Distinguishing common cause from special cause to tailor problem-solving methods
  • Developing a pull vs. push approach for quality within an organization
  • Ability to work within a small team
  • Project leadership experience
  • Developing strong working relationships with stakeholders
  • Self-motivated to deliver results and requires minimal supervision

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • 2 years of quality-related experience
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certifications is preferred
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • CMM programming experience
  • Experience in GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Experience with Enterprise Quality Management System Software
