Responsibilities:

  • Process ownership of steel investment casting process from wax pattern, ceramic shell, de-wax, melting, pouring, cut-off and cleaning
  • Develop new and refine existing wax, shell and pouring processes to reduce scrap, rework and product cost
  • Works in tandem with supervisory staff to meet production requirements
  • Independently manage a portfolio of projects to find and fix the root cause of part quality issues
  • Monitoring and responding to plant cost/quality trends
  • Prepare and document work instructions to maintain ISO compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of job costs and execute plans to improve profitability using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve Control) tools
  • Investigate, propose & manage large capital projects (for both current product, as well as long range products)
  • Act as a liaison between design engineering & manufacturing personnel
  • Provide coaching & mentoring for peers and subordinates
  • Own and manage production process for rapid prototype parts
  • Manage vendors supplying wax, flours and sand and other production equipment

What you bring to our winning team:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Engineering or related field is required
  • 5+ years experience process engineering in investment casting foundry
  • Strong mechanical as well as "hands on" aptitude
  • Passion for developing and executing best in class investment casting processes
  • Ability to interact and communicate with different job functions and lead cross functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to independently manage and prioritize projects is required
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Programming experience with robots
