The Quality Technician performs quality layout inspection procedures, practices, and standard evaluation methods that will ensure product quality and integrity. Utilizes laboratory instruments and equipment to help analyze, control, and minimize product variations. Write and run programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines and other inspection equipment that result in a detailed report format. Perform capability studies, GR&R's, and first piece approvals when necessary

What will your primary responsibilities be?

• Evaluate CMM/Part Inspection data for accuracy, prior to submission. 
• Provide CMM and other measurement data for sample part submission. 
• Maintain CMM/Part Inspection equipment and software in good working order. 
• Utilize precision measuring devices such as Mitutoya Surface Test equipment, inside, outside, and depth micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges, vernier calipers, gauge blocks and programmable inspection instruments. 
• Perform GR&R evaluations
• Conduct part layouts and capability studies to assure parts meet or exceed specified dimensional requirements. 
• May take part in formal problem-solving teams including completion of Corrective Action Requests
• Prepare reports for internal and external customers and interface as appropriate. 
• Trains others on proper blueprint reading techniques, appropriate use of gauges, and the use of a CMM and other inspection equipment. 
• Interface with customers, contractors and suppliers as appropriate. 
• Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities 

Who are we looking for?

• Technical degree or equivalent experience. 
• 0-3 years' experience as a CMM programmer/operator in Calypso preferred. 
• Good understanding of GD&T. 
• General knowledge of Quality Systems (i.e.; SPC, ISO-9000 etc.) 
• Experience in calibration methods and use of measuring tools. 
• Technical math skills. 
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills. 
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
• Root cause/ problem solving ability. 
• Ability to read blueprints. 
• Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software
