Job Purpose and Impact

The Merchant Sales Manager, Hides will independently handle sales of Cargill's large daily production of cattle hides, initiate and fulfill international transactions delivering this commoditythat meets production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. In this role you will use strong interpersonal skills to sell hides produced at our beef plants across North America to end users in Asia and throughout the world, while working closely with logisticsto successfully manage supply chain challenges.

Key Accountabilities

• Combine sales and transportation strategies to manage Cargill's hide position in order to maximize profits.
• Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution.
• Independently work with production teams to institute process improvements which allow customers to thrive.
• Collaboratively review analysis of freight opportunities in the marketplace with logistics to maximize margin.
• Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to meet their needs in developing customized business solutions for an overall strategy.
• Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of six years of related work experience
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

• International sales or merchant experience
