Role Responsibility

As our Merchandiser, you will be responsible for the Home division. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maximise full price sales and profitability through effective distribution of stock by ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time. 
  • To co-ordinate the planning process for own areas, working with the Merchandise Manager and Buying teams and providing quantitative support as required. 
  • To work in conjunction with the buying teams to influence department strategies and to monitor stock and commitment and make recommendations to highlight risks and minimise markdown.
  • To analyse full price sell through by brand and category and make recommendations to the buying teams.
  • To manage the WSSI process (weekly) including; ensuring commitment and OTB is managed through accurate forecasting
  •  Managing and delivering markdown within budget as agreed with Merchandise Manager
  • To work with buying and merchandise teams to plan and present financial plan to Merchandise Manager and Head of.
  • To analyse sales densities and make recommendations for change
  • To ensure that terminal stock issues are highlighted early and agree action plan with Merchandise Manager and Buying team
  • To identify opportunities and manage the process for Transfer of stock
  • To prepare departmental CAPEX with Buyers and present for approval to Merchandise Manager and Head Of.
  • To make decisions regarding allocation of stock to stores and communicate to Allocators for action
  • To promote best use of key systems (Retek, Excel) and attend training where necessary
  • To oversee smooth deliveries of stock from the DC to stores to ensure maximum sell through
  • To attend floorwalks with retail operations and ensure team maintains regular contact and deals promptly with shop floor queries
  • To work alongside our digital trading team to collectively drive the online performance.
  • To manage and develop a merchandising team.
