This position is responsible for Cigna Medicare Advantage’s Stars program for multiple states and is aligned to the West region of the United States. The Stars Advisor will be responsible for continuously improving quality and overall Star Ratings to achieve 4+ Stars for assigned contract(s) and supporting all contracts in the region. Additional accountabilities include providing Stars Operations support to assigned Market Manager(s), managing physician education and it relates to Stars, quality improvement activities within the region, HEDIS® measures and hybrid data collection, CAHPS and HOS improvement, Pharmacy / Part D improvement, Administrative measures, and internal Stars program education and related activities, as well as other activities as assigned.
Major Duties
May serve as a strategic partner to one or Market Manager(s). Build excellent relationships with market leaders and network operations leaders within this region.
Partner in the development of market or region specific strategies that will lead to quality improvements and decreased medical costs.
Lead the identification, development and implementation of Stars measure improvement activities within the region.
Lead the education of Cigna regional staff, providers and office staff through the dissemination of Stars materials and best practices, including reviewing and updating outward facing power point presentations.
May attend local market meetings within region where Stars is under discussion, and represent Stars by leading the review of Stars materials, or lead external Stars focus meetings with physicians or business partners.
Lead projects and initiatives designed to impact Stars rates, which will include coordinating activities with matrixed partners.
Oversees the engagement with Provider offices, hospital facilities and vendors in support of Stars activities through multiple channels, including phone, email, and in-person, through mentoring and training Stars Analysts as well as personally executing the work.
May lead Cigna’s Stars continuous quality improvement structure, through work on quality-related project teams, identifying improvements to workflows, and through the identification of operational efficiencies and best practices.
Suggests the development and revision of operational policies and procedures, workflows, and communications (both internal and external) in support of Cigna’s Stars Program.
Identify and support opportunities for creating enterprise level work groups.
Oversees reporting and training others to run reports from Cigna and Vendor sources, providing feedback on ways to improve the reporting and manipulating those data in order to provide actionable / tailored data to Cigna staff and providers.
Assure compliance by delivering quality services and meeting all contractual, state & federal legal and regulatory requirements.
May have a direct report to lead and support with aforementioned activities
Qualifications
5 + years of healthcare or related industry experience
Medicare Advantage experience
2+ years of CMS Stars, clinical quality, or healthcare quality improvement experience required
Project Management experience
Public speaker capability with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strategic thinking capability
Organizational Agility
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), including experience running web based meetings.
Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills
High level of confidence and interpersonal savvy
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Travel required (Approximately 25-50%)
This role is Work from home (WFH) which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
