Our location in Gainesville, FL has an opening for Billing Specialist. This role is responsible for facilitating the daily management of billing, accounts receivable and overseeing the collection efforts for the Continuum business. The position requires the development and standardization of procedures for new payers and for the collection of co-payments from clients. In addition, this position provides analysis and reporting of collection metrics such as critical aging trends and works with clients to establish the need for financial assistance as necessary.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in operating systems directly related to specific job function.
- Initiates contact with insurance carriers regarding status on claims.
- Maintains accurate and complete collection notes concerning collection activities on all accounts according to company procedures and requirements.
- Process accounts payable invoices and check requests, which includes reviewing each invoice and check request for proper authorization, completeness, and compliance with company policy.
- Correctly assign the cost center and account number designation.
- Work with other departments and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
- Primary backup for cash disbursement function.
- Interface with vendors and internal customers regarding invoice payment status.
- Backup for printing of sales invoices to be issued to customers.
- Backup for processing customer credit card payments through the internet service provider.
 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An Associate’s degree in Business with some accounting or finance courses is preferred. ÂÂ
- 0-2 years of experience in an accounting department.
- Ability to process numerical data quickly and accurately.
- Ability to organize time and prioritize work.
- Computer skills in database and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to use a ten-key calculator.
