Job Overview
Given the complexity of the Global Functions Technology portfolio, and the challenges of managing large scale cross-functional change, we are currently looking for a senior leader to act as our India Lead. The role will oversee the growth and development of our GFT Team located in India as well as having responsibility for managing deliverables associated with the Consent Order. This role has a direct reporting line to the GFT Chief Operating Officer as well as a matrix reporting line into the India Country Head.
Responsibilities:
As the India Lead of Global Functions Technology, the role includes:
Represent Global Head of GFT as their proxy locally
Drive local prioritization of requirements into the global prioritization process
Provide local leadership to the GFT teams located in India, including identification of local talent needs and talent development.
Implement talent strategies to build a strong diverse direct workforce
Build and implement a talent development strategy for our India based teams.
Actively participate and take a lead in India O&T Leadership groups
Build and foster strong partnerships with the global Technology Leads for each of the Functions
Act as local lead for regulatory interaction and escalation on behalf of GFT
Oversee the successful delivery of the Technology Book of Work driven from India including all Consent Order related deliverables including:
Define and own integrated plans across the technology teams for key programs within India
Ensure the right level of sponsorship and ongoing governance is in place to drive local program execution
Manage all critical dependencies and execution risks for the programs
Drive a culture of accountability into the teams within India
Allow the application development managers to focus on execution of their discrete pieces of work, whilst ensuring that the end-to-end context is kept in mind, and that the appropriate end to end process and technical architectural principles are continually reinforced
Partner with the Global Functions Technology Leads to lead communication for all large-scale technology change within India, including with C-suite sponsors in India.
Critical Competencies & Qualifications:
Senior professional with at least 15 years’ experience in financial services, preferably in a technology or software development organization
Demonstrated development, planning and execution of medium range and long-term strategic plans
Demonstrated project management experience and detailed knowledge of technology products
Broad and comprehensive knowledge of Regulatory environment across India
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives. Proficient in developing new ideas to mitigate and improve current processes
Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to see the big picture with high attention to critical details. Well versed in breaking down complex matters into core issues and root causes that can be more readily addressed
Consistently developed and maintained effective work relationships with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization, from technical developers to senior business/executive leaders
Pushes self and colleagues to higher levels of performance by actively listening and engaging in constructive dialogue
Ability to balance strategic thinking with process-oriented execution, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal teamwork and external material delivered to clients
Skills:
A demonstrated ability to work across company boundaries, managing by fact and influence to hold a disparate group of participants and sponsors to account
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - will have interaction with senior technology and business managers
Candidate is expected to be a strong team player and work effectively in cross-organization situations
Experience leading a team with a focus on people development
A demonstrated commitment to developing talent, including a history actively driving to a more diverse talent mix across their teams
Able to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
