Job Description

Lead in building customer and supplier relationships and ensuring daily the supply of materials to support customer demand. Plan and compile records related to the ordering, receiving, storing, issuing and shipping of materials, supplies and equipment required for the manufacture of brake and brake related components at the York facility. Also responsible for the processing and analysis of Customer orders (EDI, manual POs, and Customer Portal). Coordination of customer orders, scheduling, manufacturing, and shipments to meet customer delivery expectations.


Job Responsibilities:


•    Prepares requisitions or other documents for the purchase of new or additional productive stock.
•    Initiate action to represent the customers’ interests on a daily basis in order to achieve AOP delivery and inventory goals. 
•    Process EDI, work errors, and validate “Cums” (Cumulative delivery) for all customers.
•    Review and analyze customer demand to ensure the on time delivery of product.
•    Identify and record any customer delivery or scheduling system problems.
•    Assists in inventory control though proper working of the material planning tools available in the Oracle database.
•    Compiles data from sources such as purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, customer order boards, and various Oracle reports.
•    Establish, maintain and enhance relationship with customers.
•    Assist in the purchase of shipping and packaging materials for service and shipping department i.e. cartons, pallets, film, banding etc.
•    This position deals with all the inherent problems of insuring timely delivery of productive material required for all manufacturing departments on a daily basis.
•    Maintain healthy and professional relationships with all vendors, customers and internal departments.
•    Schedule and expedite material as per plant requirements.
•    Root cause analysis of any customer complaints or material shortages.
•    Represent Materials on PIE events, Kaizen events, 8D for DMNs, and Continuous Improvement/Safety teams.
•    Interprets company policies to teams and enforces safety regulations.
•    Inform vendor of current requirements and if necessary prioritize.
•    Individual may be required to work daily and/or weekend overtime

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

•    5+ years manufacturing work experience with experience in one or more of the basic material fields such as expediting, customer service, planning/scheduling, purchasing, inventory control.

•    Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.

•    APICS Certification preferred.
