Summary of Position:

This is a 1st shift position. Analyze, coordinate and schedule materials for Mercury Racing Plant 36 using Lean Manufacturing principles to ensure inventory integrity and proper material flow. Communicate with all manufacturing departments to facilitate a balance of materials while establishing priorities and giving direction to area supervisors and management. Communicate with Purchasing Group Buyers and Analysts to ensure on-time materials demand.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Expedite materials from their respective sources: Interplant, purchasing, vendor and engineering.
  • Communicate, coordinate and resolve problems with receiving, inspection, purchasing, assembly, shop floor operators, service, manufacturing engineers, vendors and product change (MPE/BOM).
  • Investigate, analyze and initiate PIMS routing and source changes and perform necessary systems maintenance.
  • Develop Pull System targets to facilitate the flow of materials for production
  • Assist Purchasing Analyst(s) in coordinating further processing of components by external vendors
  • Coordinate JIT material flow to Racing Plt. 36
  • Manage planning parameters and inventory to target levels
  • Drive root cause analysis and problems solving individually and within cross-functional teams.
  • Daily updates on low production parts inventory
  • Oversee Critical Parts Issues
  • Primary owner of MFI and PFEP strategies
  • Assist engineering development build materials obtainment
  • Assist in P&A backorder issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in Microsoft applications (especially MS Excel)
  • Strong data entry and analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of Inventory Control Techniques/Kanban/Material Flow Systems
  • Knowledge of bill of material required
  • Ability to work in a complex and changing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess good analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of material control systems including production control, inventory control or scheduling desired
  • Post HS educational degree and/or certificates preferred
  • Knowledge of PIMS and mainframe/ERP systems highly desirable
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and LSS certification desirable
  • PIMS Information Management Systems
  • Previous experience in a repetitive manufacturing environment
