Job Description

Primary responsibility of this position is to develop, plan, direct and control the day-to-day scheduling of brakes and brake components through effective scheduling of machines, assembly lines, benches, and material flow in order to meet customer schedules and sales forecasts. This position is responsible for the supervision of the scheduling indirect hourly work team in the facility ensuring the team has the resources, skills, training, materials and information to schedule the daily production of the York facility. Responsible for reviewing production schedules and coordinating the flow of materials and manufacturing of finished goods to the Customer. This position will also coordinate continuous improvement activities through process improvements and cost reduction initiatives for both manufacturing and supply chain teams.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Review Monthly PPSC, weekly and daily customer demand by product line
•    Participate in monthly SIOP process for Capacity Planning, Production Planning and Master Production Schedule
•    Ensure that established buffers are maintained for Brake component manufacturing and assembly
•    Utilize Oracle Flow Scheduling to schedule all product lines
•    Reconcile daily production, review previous day payouts and keep system orders synchronized with customer orders and demand
•    Coordinate with CSR’s for past due and production priorities
•    Coordinate with production manager both daily and weekly schedules and recommend resource allocations and line changes to drive throughput and efficiency
•    Supervise shop floor packages, reports and labels to the relative product lines in both manufacturing and assembly
•    Work daily with Manufacturing Manager to level load production based on meeting customer demand and maximizing production efficiency.
•    Ensure full compliance to the Standards of Business Conduct through familiarity with related policies and procedures. 
•    Train and motivate subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures
•    Ensure department goals for safety, quality, and throughput are achieved within AOP budgets
•    Work with the shipping and receiving departments, ensuring on-time delivery, minimal expedites, and receiving controls to maintain inventory accountability
•    Ensure the appropriate liaison between manufacturing and materials, supporting group activities or programs as necessary for implementation of manufacturing goals
•    Train and develop team members on work processes and requirements to ensure functioning in a safe and efficient environment
•    Facilitate the performance evaluation process
•    Coach team members for increased performance; counsel and take corrective action when necessary
•    Provide and develop leadership.
•    Suggests changes in work methods and use of systems to improve efficiency both within Manufacturing, Materials and Shipping/Receiving,
•    Maintain plant/corporate expectations for policies and procedures, safety, housekeeping (5S) & environmental (ISO 14001); quality (ISO/TS); HR, production, IT, finance and materials while achieving or exceeding the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor's Level Degree in Business or Engineering with a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing environment strongly preferred

•    Proven leadership in an industrial environment

•    Automotive manufacturing experience preferred in addition to ERP and shop floor control systems, MRP, 

•    Lean Manufacturing and problem solving

•    Excellent oral and written communication skills required, with the demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
