Job Description

About This Role:

Develop a world-class marketing operations function to scale marketing efforts through process improvement, automation, and technology.

Who you are:

Are you a change management and process improvement champion? Do you thrive on organizing systems and processes to drive team coordination? Can you see the big picture and keep a team focused on priorities? Do you love seeing projects through from ideation to execution to evaluation of results? Avery Dennison’s marketing team is growing to take on new challenges, and with it we need a strong organizational expert who can help ease growing pains and establish a structure for future success. We’re looking for a hands-on team player (really, you’ll be working across a lot of groups) with strong project management skills to apply a high level of process improvement expertise as an integral member of the Marketing department. You’re not only comfortable, but you thrive with ambiguity and view it as an opportunity to bring structure to the unstructured.

This person will have the chance to:

  • Serve as the point of contact, and liaison, across groups such as: marketing and creative, IT, sales, and finance. Understand and outline how initiatives across groups impact one another.
  • Develop/optimize and document processes and guidelines,, in partnership with team members, ensuring optimization and scalability. How does coordination happen across groups? What does the right RACI look like? What processes need to be in place to ensure efficiency?
  • Integrate processes and establish guidelines across groups. Effectively lead change, working with team members to ensure involvement, participation, and encouragement of others’ ideas and contributions for effective teamwork and successful project execution.
  • Work with marketing leadership on prioritization of campaigns and resources to drive the highest impact in meeting strategic and tactical goals
  • Assist in managing cross-functional marketing campaign execution, project planning, and tracking. Oversee the workload of the creative team, identify bottlenecks, and adjust accordingly.
  • Identify issues and problem-solve to have tasks prioritized and completed to deadline.
  • Manage users, data, and security for marketing platforms.
  • Manage budget process, including forecasting of spend and results.
  • Track invoice submissions and facilitate new vendor set-ups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Master's preferred
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Strong process improvement/development and project management background with ability to bridge the gap between teams
  • Experience in operations or project management with marketing organizations, and media / creative agencies
  • Ability to set goals and systematically prioritize growth initiatives. Experience with project and process management tools such as Smartsheet, WorkFront, and Mural.
  • Success leading complex cross-functional teams to implement and deliver projects on-time and within budget
  • Effective communication (and listening) skills. Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, simplify high-level information into details and, conversely, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Sensitivity and persuasiveness skills to help the stakeholders and partners understand what they may need vs. what they request.
  • Experience developing processes for marketing organizations: e.g. stakeholder project requests/intake, creative briefing, translations.
  • Experience managing and implementing MarTech stack.
  • Comfort with budget management and forecasting
  • Independent worker able to self-manage to a large part while planning and reporting task progress to supervisor and team.
