Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Market Risk Analyst, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for Market Risk Analysis and processes focusing on Rates businesses

In this role, you will:

  • Co-ordinate with MRM, FO, MMO, and the corresponding desks to define comprehensive requirements and communicate with Transformation Maintain strong internal controls and highly controlled reporting environment.
  • Establish operating models and attend management forums to represent MRA team
  • Document existing and new processes.
  • Participate in FRTB deliveries from Market Risk perspective
  • Have end-to-end ownership of daily, weekly, monthly Rates asset class processes globally
  • Ensure that production tasks are nearshore where possible.
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of controls to ensure that operational risk is minimized.
  • Provide commentary and MRA tasks ownership on Regulatory Capital Charge inputs, including Stress Test and PRA requests
  • Work with Transformation teams to ensure strategic systems rollout is delivered on schedule.
  • Work with GRA (Group Risk Analytics) to review the risk models (DPRM, products pricing, curve calibration…)
  • Represent Traded Risk at different forums related to the FRTB SA
 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of risk management, Value at Risk, sVaR,SA, IMA, PVBP, RWA and Stress Testing
  • Understanding of IRC notion
  • Understand key risk factors for FX and Rates products and how they are measured.
  • Thorough understanding of the Market risk function.
  • Ability to design and implement normalized databases.
  • Strong knowledge of VBA, SQL , Python
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and Summit, Murex
  • Experience from related banking and markets areas, e.g. Product Control, Front Office, Risk management, Risk transformation
