The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for supervising multiple production lines with the assistance of an hourly Team Lead. The primary responsibility is to ensure the team has the resources, skills, training, materials, and other information required to safely produce a quality product which meets customer specifications and schedules in a cost-efficient manner. The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for reviewing production schedules, BOM’s (bills of materials), and work instructions to coordinate the assembly/manufacturing of finished goods to the Customer.
Job Responsibilities:
•Supervising, directing, coordinating, and regularly evaluating the hourly employees and Team Lead (s) on an off shift (any other shifts aside from first shift) to ensure compliance with all policies and applicable laws.
•Training, or coordination of training employees to ensure all training objectives are met for employees to be successful in their roles.
•Planning, assigning, and directing/delegating work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues that may arise.
•Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process in alignment with the Meritor Quality System, and in the event of any quality issues, identify and record any product or process that presents issues.
•Ensure full compliance with the Standards of Business Conduct and train team members in the importance of compliance with these standards.
•Ensure all mandatory training is completed for employees and verify by completing any required training documentation.
•Ensure department goals for safety, quality, attendance, environmental, financial, inventory, delivery, and efficiency are achieved within AOP (Annual Operating Plan) budgets.
•Serve as a key communication link between first shift management and off shift team members.
•Facilitate the annual merit review process and coach team members for increased performance and any other objectives needed for team members to be successful.
•Develop and foster an inclusive environment where team members feel comfortable communicating openly and can coach other team members.
•Ensure team members are submitting suggestions for improvements through the company’s employee suggestion program.
•Operations Champion for Quality
•Knowledgeable in and Champion for MPS (Meritor Performance System)
•Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-year college degree, preferably in a manufacturing or business discipline
• Proficient Microsoft Office experience required
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Automotive industry experience preferred
• Oracle experience a plus
