Overview:
The Manufacturing Entry associate provides multi-tasking production ability to a heavy vehicle brake drum facility. The incumbent reports to the Production Facilitator and may be required to work flexible hours to support the production process. Primary responsibilities include operating machinery per instructions of others, performing well in a team environment, committing to 5S standards (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain), TPM (total preventative maintenance) and CI (continuous improvement) culture.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Must be able to perform production-related activities per acceptable standard.
•Produce a quality product within customer specifications taking action to minimize scrap
•Operate production equipment and perform computer based activities, complying with guidelines and safety standards.
•Understand 5S and 5S activities daily. Assist maintenance in solving technical problems.
•Operate within standard operating procedures. Communicate with operators across all shifts regarding job responsibilities.
•Complete daily productivity log. Perform Lock Out/Safe Start procedures as mandated. Ability to work overtime as required.
•Operate fork truck to maintain raw material supply for production purposes.
QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
•At least one year of manufacturing experience in a heavy industrial environment preferred
•Basic computer skills required
•Proficient in understanding basic math and decimal computations
•High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
•Mandatory use of safety equipment and PPE at high level of awareness
•Standing and sitting for long periods of time (normally 8 hour shifts)
•Frequent lifting of materials of varying weights.
•Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required
•Mental acuity to react appropriately to situational challenges
•Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. •Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
