Job Summary –

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the Gemba process by troubleshooting, resolving, and preventing production issues that affect Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost within internal processes. The ME Tech is also responsible for supporting new product integration.

Primary Responsibilities –

• Lead & support root cause analysis of items identified in the Gemba process
• Lead and support A3s and DMAIC projects
• Drive problem solving and corrective action to improve consistency of line movement on the assembly lines
• Drive problem solving and corrective action to improve internal quality defects, as well as warranty failures
• Design & implement jigs, fixtures, templates, and tooling to reduce process variation
• Create & implement work instructions, visual aids, and quality / process alerts to standardize corrective action
• Identify critical to quality operations & checks, and standardize
• Revise engineering prints, as necessary
• Create & implement engineering changes, as necessary
• Support new product integration
• Perform other duties as assigned         

Qualifications –

•  3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
• Understanding of, and experience with the utilization of LSS and problem-solving tools.
• Able to read and understand engineering prints
• Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
• Must possess strong analytical skills
• Must be customer focused
• Able to work independently with little supervision and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all functional areas in the facility, supply chain, product development, and vendors
• Self-starter and detail oriented

Education Requirements – High school diploma or GED required. YB or GB LSS Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements – Lift up to 30 lbs. up to 60% of shift and 50 lbs up to 30% of shift, push/pull up to 30 lbs

Travel Requirements – 0% - 10%
