Job Description

Job Requirements:

Improve quality processes, investigate manufacturing quality problems, customer and consumer complaints, and work on Process Control and Continuous Improvement activities using a broad range of skills and techniques. Tasks will include the following;

  • Work closely with our plant operations to support our quality initiatives and customer requirements.
  • Work with Manufacturing & Engineering on root cause analysis for both in process and customer related issues.
  • Lead the use of Process Improvements utilizing 8D approach or 9 Step Problem Solving, 5 Why’s and Root Cause Identification Techniques.
  • Maintain and improve the current Plant Quality System.
  • Design, initiate and implement Quality related projects
  • Analysis of production and quality problems and how they affect our customers as well as, provide support / training in implementing solutions to these problems
  • Manage the Customer Complaint Reporting System.
  • Work within the Technical Services Team to ensure all requests are addressed and completed in a timely manner
  • Manage data collection and Analysis of Plant Process
  • Support Manufacturing Plant Continuous Improvement Projects by performing needed tests and providing supporting documentation.
  • Support of our SQL-based Quality Assurance System (QAS)
  • Support the plant HACCP and SQF certification program
  • Ensure workmanship standards and AQL are agreed with customers and are clearly communicated prior to manufacture, including packing specifications.
  • Manage the use and maintenance of on-line vision systems as an enhancement of the plant’s quality program.
  • Manage the Supplier Quality Assurance system to ensure that non-conforming materials are removed from the

manufacturing process.

  • Work with Sourcing Team and support Claims settlement with suppliers.
  • Manage the Hold For Inspection (HFI) program for manufactured products.
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate Quality and the Connellsville Plant

Job Requirements

BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering

Experience in metal forming or high-speed manufacturing is a plus

Minimum of 3 years progressive manufacturing experience in quality or related discipline. Experience in the packaging industry is a plus.

A thorough understanding, of data collection, SPC and other Process Control Methods.

Skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Proven problem-solving skills and experience using analytical approaches to problems

Project management experience

Proven oral and written communication skills

Effective interpersonal and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects to completion

Ability to work effectively both as an individual and in a team, environment using collaborative methods

Certification in Six Sigma (Green, Black or Master Black Belt) desirable

Must be committed to ongoing personal training and development
