Job Description

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Conceptualize and designs product packaging, including graphic design, placement of labeling, text, logo, and universal product code (UPC) bar coding, and/or promotional design.

  • Coordinates with Marketing, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing to design appropriate packaging of products.

  • Performs other related preparator duties as required.

  • May advise external designers or artists as necessary. 

  • Design, Develops, and tests a wide variety of containers used for the protection, display, and handling of products.  

  • Determines packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, considering need for resistance to such external variables as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering. 

  • Designs package exteriors considering such factors as product identification, sales appeal, aesthetic quality, printing and production techniques. 

  • Responsibilities may include documentation management and an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

  • Develops and implements production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner.  

  • Investigates and resolves work-in-process  problems. 

  • Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.

  • Monitors assigned operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. 

  • Responsible for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. 

  • Implements process improvements to meet quality standards, performs feasibility studies and solves problems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial,  Manufacturing or Systems Engineering

  • 2-4 years of experience in leading repair and troubleshooting of production equipment

  • Certified Packaging Professional (preferred)

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and Google Apps (mail, docs, sheets, slides, forms)

  • Knowledgeable in Oracle ERP system 

  • Good Math and analytical skills.

  • Good verbal and written skills

  • Good organization and attention to detail

  • General scientific and engineering knowledge

  • Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.

  • Familiarity in process documentation and improvement
