Company Description:

Advanced Systems Group (ASG) is a division of Brunswick, which designs and manufactures a broad product portfolio of electrical components and power management systems for the marine, Recreational Vehicle, Emergency Vehicle, Specialty Vehicle, and Industrial markets.  ASG Connect out of Menomonee Falls, WI is the integration wing of ASG.  We are an OEM that designs and assembles ASG and external components into a total kit to be sold to other Manufactures as an out of the box solution.

Summary of Position:

This position reports to the Lead Engineer of the Design and Manufacturing Engineering team. Main responsibility will be to create and maintain documentation that enables the efficient and accurate manufacture of mobile (12V) electro-mechanical control systems.  Documentation will include work instructions and end user documentation. The candidate will require excellent writing skills, ability to create standardized documentation around light assembly work, organized thinking, record keeping, and basic electrical knowledge.  Industrial, Mechanical and Electrical engineers are encouraged to apply.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Document and refine architecture for electro-mechanical systems:
  • Define assemblies of control components to fit in defined spaces
  • Propose and implement design changes to improve manufacturability
  • Develop Kanban, kitting, and workflow for maximum efficiency
  • Define interconnect strategies to enable the simplest installation by our customers
  • Propose, specify, or design tooling and fixturing to facilitate manufacturing
  • Develop testing strategies, fixtures, and tools to ensure product quality
  • Ability to learn relevant regulations and codes for the markets we serve
  • Create and maintain a file structure that enable easy identification of the correct document
  • Create bills of material for designs
  • Communicate design intent to manufacturing teams internal and external

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Working towards Bachelor of Applied Science (BSIE, BSME, BSEE) or equivalent.
  • Able to work independently and within groups.
  • Able to synthesize a solution when design inputs are vague or incomplete.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexible to ever changing priorities and environments.
  • Comfortable in multi-tasking situations.
  • Selfless, can do attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with marine and/or RV products
  • Familiarity with ABYC requirements
  • Experience with new product introduction cycles
  • Shop/Bench fabrication and/or assembly skills
