An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the House of Commons as Managing Director of Finance, Portfolio & Performance. This Managing Director is a member of the House of Commons Executive Board, giving finance professionalism a presence at the Board, helping to take forward some of the most important finance objectives. They will have responsibility for all aspects of financial planning, management and reporting ensuring that credible financial analysis underpins all decision making across the House of Commons. The Managing Director will have the skills and experience to continue the development of the finance function to ensure the provision of expert skills through business partnering to meet current and future business requirements
Our ideal candidate is an inspiring, collaborative, and outcomes-focused leader who will approach the role and the environment with drive, open-mindedness and innovation. They will have a recognised finance qualification and a strong track record of success in a senior finance leadership role in a complex public sector organisation. Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrable experience of driving value for money as well as significant experience of investment planning and appraisal, ideally with experience of advising on large or complex programmes and projects is also sought.
A clear, credible, and engaging communicator, they will quickly win the confidence of stakeholders, and will impress with capacity to lead and motivate a team of professional heads, ensuring that diversity, inclusion and good practise cascades through the team.
This is a substantial role that will require candidates to draw on their full range of leadership and technical credentials to deliver the best outcomes for Parliament.
