Job summary
How we do improve Amazon's pricing strategy and onsite price experience to improve price perception among customers? This is the key question we are trying to answer at scale for the millions of customers we serve worldwide. The Price Perception team is looking for a Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of projects and help deliver on our vision of delighting customers globally with low prices and great value, all the time. In this role, you will work cross-functionally across retail, operations, and prod-tech teams to act as the voice of these unique businesses and identify and drive customer experience improvements as they relate to WW Pricing. This role entails working with leadership to develop business roadmaps, leading high visibility, high priority projects, and ultimately enabling us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly.
The ideal candidate has proven themselves to be a thought leader on new initiatives with experience managing complex business and process challenges, and the ability to influence and successfully drive projects forward. You will have a strong bias toward data-driven decision making along with a keen eye toward building functionality and reporting that can scale along with our business. With the business growing rapidly, you will not have the luxury of having tunnel-vision for any one area; rather, will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize between different levers.
The individual will be responsible for the following:
o Collaborating with Operations and Product stakeholders to identify business impacting needs
o Developing a deep understanding of the customer needs and what levers impact their perception of quality
o Gaining support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by identifying dependencies and influencing peers and senior leadership
o Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale
o The successful candidate must be a team player, be comfortable with ambiguity, communicate persuasively and be able to influence internal and external stakeholders of all levels. They will over-index in several leadership competencies, particularly ownership, invent and simplify, bias for action, and dive deep.
Key job responsibilities
o Ability to seamlessly work across functional and organizational boundaries, and reputation for influencing others and earning trust across levels and organizations
o Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal o Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
o Proven track record of delivering initiatives from conception through completion of large-scale projects
o Possess a strong understanding of Project/Program Management principles and processes
· 2+ years experience in program or project management
· 3+ years’ of people management experience.
· Experience leading process improvements
· Experience in building, improving and re-engineering business processes and business analytics.
· Proven record of innovation and thought leadership
· Ability to work independently with limited general supervision
· Ability to collaborate with a diverse set of business customers and drive conflict resolution
· Understanding of software development lifecycle and how it pertains to project management lifecycle
· Experience using Six Sigma, Lean or other process improvement methodology to streamline business processes
· A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
