Central Operations refers to a new approach within Amazon Logistics to define a scalable solution to run the increasingly complex and growing last mile delivery network. Central Operations is a key strategic initiative with a vision to transform the way AMZL executes forecasting, route planning, demand scheduling and last mile delivery.
We are looking for passionate, results-oriented leader to own and manage critical technical initiatives for Central Operations. Successful candidate will be someone with a proven track record of scoping, planning and deploying medium to large scale tech solutions. He or She should be able to invent on behalf of internal customers and drive technical advancements. This person should be able to operate in areas of the business with a high degree of ambiguity that require a great deal of ownership. The role will provide opportunities to think big, develop original ideas, and partner with AMZL Planning, Transportation, Last Mile Tech, Operations and business expansion teams to develop a strategic approach to scale Central Operations.
Responsibilities include:
· Owns tech systems to enable successful planning and execution of Central Operations functions.
· Identify right technical solves on behalf of CO functions simplifying daily execution and supporting the business growth.
· Working with global tech teams and SMEs to provide user stories, drive prioritization and deliver successful deployment of the tech solutions.
· Provide a ‘go to person’ support and expertise on various Last Mile tech tools and products used by the CO teams.
· Create weekly/monthly status reports on various programs to give visibility on timelines and key risks & blockers if any.
· Develop cross-functional relationships with different AMZL teams and stakeholders on new technical products and solutions.
· Bachelor's degree with a minimum 7 years’ experience in a program management role.
· Strong leadership skills; experience leading large scale teams of project or program managers; owning weekly & monthly status reports and updates
· Strong Project management and analytical skills; Ability to manage different programs at a network level to influence and obtain buy-in, and then drive execution, analysis and achievement of the right results.
· Problem solving skills and the abilities to quantitatively analyse challenges, scope technical requirements, and effectively prioritize program deliverables
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with understanding of tech development processes and software lifecycle.
Proven track record for delivering results on large, cross functional, international milestone projects
· MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or operations related fields with minimum 10+ years of relevant experience
· Experience in supply chain management/technologies and also in implementing Kaizen/ continuous improvement processes
· Experience with agile or similar program management methodologies
· Proven track record in communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units and engaging with remote teams and external partners
· Strong data manipulation background and ability to work with numbers on a daily basis; Experience with analysing big data sets
· Ability and interest to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment with good judgment in stressful situations
· Ability to Deep Dive and develop innovative ideas for process challenges
