Job Description
Essential Functions of the role:
- Directs all tax-related projects and compliance reporting, including the preparation of local, state, and federal filings.
- Oversight for all local, state, and federal audits.
- Assists in due diligence activities for the acquisition of new business entities.
- Assists with development of corporate restructuring plans.
- Provides tax-related guidance for GFS US and Canadian related companies.
- Develops capital and operational budget for the department. Routinely monitors, manages and controls budget, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action and develops plans for productivity improvements.
- Interviews, hires, train, and retain staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
- Ten years previous tax accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two years previous supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field (Required)
- Masters -MST, MBA, MSA and JD (Preferred)
- CPA Certification (Preferred)
