Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Act as the focal point for all matters relating to sourcing of solar modules and balance of system components up to the inverter (e.g., racking, foundation piles, etc)

• Introduce, develop, and continuously improve best-in-class sourcing techniques, strategies, incentives, and practices with a focus on risk management and project savings

• Tender requests for proposals, review and level-set vendor proposals, and negotiate contracts that result in the best value possible

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage the vendor due-diligence process for new vendors

• Work with internal and external resources to stay informed on potential policy changes impacting current and future procurement strategies

• Manage and efficiently communicate risk of long-term supply contracts (e.g., credit exposure, commodities, policy, crisis, technology, etc)

• Develop leading metrics and indices to manage supply/demand including commodity pricing, interest rates, exchange rates, manufacturing capacity, PPA rates, and other market signals

• Develop and manage a technology and cost database for equipment including long-term technology and cost forecasts

• Maintain a database of current technical and non-technical documentation for each supplier on an approved vendor list (e.g., financials, IE reports, data sheets, .PAN files, etc)

• Manage template supply agreements to streamline the procurement process, ensure consistency, and apply lessons learned

• Cultivate deep-rooted relationships with supplier organizations and identify strategic opportunities with prospect of additional business development (e.g., U.S. Manufacturing, etc)

• Work with team leaders to identify support requirements, conduct training, and share procurement knowledge and best practices across regions and divisions

• Contributes to the strategic leadership of the organization and the continued growth and development of the Procurement Department

• Capable of managing change on multiple projects simultaneously, while working in a fast paced and dynamic environment

• Takes initiative to identify what needs to be done, doing it before asked, and follows up with other to ensure commitments have been fulfilled.

• Team player with strong initiative, able to work autonomously to complete tasks but equally able to enlist the support of cross-functional team members and external suppliers and partners

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years’ professional experience in a strategic sourcing role within the energy sector

• Experience in Solar EPC/BoP contracting experience strongly preferred

• Bachelor of Science degree in Legal, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Engineering

• High proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

• Working knowledge in SAP or similar ERP systems

• Proficient in Mandarin, or other Chinese dialect (not a requirement)
