The Quality Manager has direct responsibility for establishing and maintaining performance objectives relating to the quality of all Meritor products. While leading the Quality function, this position must successfully facilitate and/or coordinate end results by implementing systems and actions through other functional groups to support both NA Industrial and NA Truck business units.
Job Responsibilities:
• Solicit input, analyze and prioritize Customer and supplier related quality issues and coordinate
• resources to continuously improve metrics and achieve corporate objectives and exceed customer expectations.
• Measure total effectiveness with impact to metrics, including internal audits, IATF 16949 Audits, customer audits-warranty costs, PPM’s, scrap, and COPQ.
• Serve as IATF16949 Management Representative while providing quality leadership for the Meritor organization facility.
• Direct and guide the efforts of the Quality Management Team (QMT)
• Lead activities associated with maintaining and improving the Quality System.
• Perform special studies as required by the Site Manager or Quality Director.
• Provide process/system and quality expertise in a consultative manner to all functional groups
• Lead Meritor into future quality systems, which would enhance/replace the current IATF16949 system.
• Manage development of the quality system and ensure successful 3rd party certification audits.
• Ensure compliance with Meritor policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct and Quality Systems.
• Educate and motivate employees stressing the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such quality policies and procedures.
• Design and implement processes and systems which yields superior process quality
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure in-process quality expectations are met.
• Improve areas associated with maintaining IATF16949 certification
• Travel to supplier or customer sites as required
• Affect the planning, development, implementation, execution and management of the ARM supply base.
• Ensure supplier development and capability to meet and/or exceed product program and product certification objectives as related to new and current products and process.
• Ensure appropriate communications and facilitate linkage with cross - functional teams, buyers, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Comply with all Meritor written environmental (ISO 14001) and quality IATF16949 policies.
• Comply with all management policies and procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive supervisory or managerial experience required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality systems management required, with an advanced quality certification preferred
• Demonstrated leadership in a fast place manufacturing environment required, preferably in the automotive industry
• Employee will access system information for specific business purposes only.
• Sensitive information while performing the duties of this position will not be communicated to others.
• In order to maintain a high level of trust in this position, sensitive information obtained outside of performing these duties will also not be communicated to others.
• Computer literacy required
• Demonstrated leadership in a fast place manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry
