Reporting to the Executive Director, Post-Production Finance, this position is responsible for the preparation of Post-Production and VFX budgets and final cost reports, including supporting the Post and VFX Departments with budgeting, cost reporting and cash flow needs.
The Manager Post Production is responsible for the financial show management across all shows in Post, including:
• Migration of 20th Century Post Production into Disney Post Production. Standardize reporting and accounting. Tracking incentives
• Quarterly closes and reporting to corporate controllership
• Overseeing digitization of show records amongst scanning vendors
• Year end foreign tax filings reports to corporate and 3rd party preparers
• Quarterly closes and reporting to corporate controllership
• EFC to SAP quarterly reconcillation and tax incentives
• COGNOS forecast and reporting to corporate tax quarterly
• Verifying banking instructions for all post production wire payments
• Work directly with Post Production & VFX Executives to manage the financial aspects of projects throughout post-production
• Work with Post Executives and VFX Executives to develop final departmental budgets and cash flows for all projects
• Work with filmmakers and executive staff to oversee and secure incoming financial information throughout the course of post-production
• Match and analyze variances to final budget and alert management before variances hit cost reports
• Work with Corporate Tax and Controllership to oversee and implement the accounting of IP Rights and Production Fees
• Interface with Participations to facilitate payments of Contingent Compensation for UK productions, and track and book all related incentive returns
• Manage the reconciliation of funding and production costs from 3rd party accounting software to SAP
• Track quarterly Studio BW Reconciliations for all shows in post and work with post accountants to ensure all records are up to date
• Supervise post accountants to issue final cost reports and ensure the shutdown of shows in a timely fashion
• Oversee turnover meetings from Production to Post Production, and participate in show audits
• Manage post-production currency purchases and returns, including working with International Treasury team to track currency hedges, bring funds back to the US, and oversee currency reconciliation
• Management of final tax incentive submissions and returns throughout the post-production and beyond film release
• Ongoing maintenance and accounting for WDP service companies, including tracking overhead and facilitating bill-back across shows.
• Manage special projects and ad hoc reports as needed
• Minimum of 5 years of finance experience required in entertainment, consulting or public accounting
• Strong financial modeling and analytical abilities
• Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal and project management skills
• Attention to detail, desire for accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts, solve problems, and implement solutions
• Proficiency with Movie Magic Budgeting, SAP, GlobalVista/PSL3, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Post Production or Production related experience required
