Job Description

Job Summary:

Creative Operations is dedicated to supporting global publishers with their product development and approvals. The Manager, Product Development will lead a team of 5 people responsible for the approvals on submissions and assets for print books, learning products, and digital products, and for providing licensees with all of the necessary information about branding, art, and editorial they need to create Disney, Pixar, Lucas, Marvel and National Geographic products. This position is based in Florida andreports tothe Director, Creative Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee product development and approvals for Digital and Learning products in North American and Latina America, and Books and "Partworks" globally across all franchises, under Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucas, Disney Channel, Disney Live Action, National Geographic
  • Manage 5 direct reports; Provide direction to project managers with their account management and approval issues and make decisions in areas of conflicting interests
  • Work with Operations Senior Manager to identify reoccurring trends regarding process and approval issues for domestic and international licensees; implement improvements and solutions after discussions with partners
  • Be the Creative Ops Franchise lead for Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Disney Live-Action, and Disney Channel, being the team's representative and working with Disney Channel team to source creative guidelines, assets and approvals
  • Oversee final frames acquisitions and delivery process, which consists of legal clearance, keywording, and delivery to our data asset management system; Work with studio teams to acquire images, with CP Operations to provide early assets, and with an outside vendor to provide guidance about security and labeling
  • Manage Publishing asset needs (illustrations developed internally) among essential licensees for Disney and Pixar unreleased films, working with creative leads, Managing Editorial, and Digital Library; Coordination involves collecting licensees' asset needs on a product-by-product basis and working with partners to ensure products can get made in time for on-shelf dates and creating workarounds when certain assets are not available in time. As asset delivery is contingent on the film production, this effort requires nimbleness.
  • Be the system expert for Creative Ops (Pub Planning, Global Titles Library, Online Product Approvals, Digital Media Center); Provide guidance to other project managers and update tutorials.
  • Facilitate unreleased film pitches and publishing deck share-outs for NA licensees. Maintain guidelines for security protocols/guidelines with licensees
  • Be the main contact for Online Product Approvals (OPA) for Creative and Tech partners, providing OPA trainings, sending out OPA reminders, working with OPA reviewers for consistency across all franchises, while working with Tech team to communicate and prioritize necessary enhancements
  • Manage product development for high profile/global licensees: Bonnier, DK, Readerlink, Printers Row, Make It Real, Carson Dellosa among various others
  • Manage Creative Ops server structure and maintain organization of differentstored assets

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with project management
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with creative teams
  • Balance the needs of multiple partners
  • Problem solver with a "can do" attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the Marvel and Star Wars franchises
  • Flexible work schedule to receive calls at late hours with supervisor in Japan

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
